We are committed to providing our employees the education and resources to do their jobs with sustainability first on their mind.
Our Green Team is a compilation of all departments working together in the spirit of sustainability. Our staff is dedicated to being good citizens with ongoing volunteer projects to not only ensure proper sustainability, but to have a viable presence in our
community.
The Red Lion Hotel on the River—Jantzen Beach embraces our contribution to the journey of environmental stewardship. The following are our current sustainable practices:
Recycling:

Recycled paper products made with the following post-consumer recycle contents when available

Office paper a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled content

Glossy printed material 10% post-consumer recycled content

Office supplies are only ordered as needed or donated to School House Supplies when no longer needed

Each department in the hotel has a comprehensive sort station with co-mingle, composting, bottles/glass & trash. Individual

garbage cans have been eliminated from each person’s desk space.The hotel is proud to be 100% smoke free

Our active recycling program allows for all groups, guests, employees and vendors to participate

Our hotel recycling program includes aluminum, plastic, steel, glass, cardboard, mixed paper, hangers, toner cartridges and

Packaging has been reduced by utilizing reusable vs. disposable goods, purchasing food, beverages and supplies in

bulk whenever possible and requiring vendors to take back pallets and crates

Paperless communications between all internal and external departments
Purchasing Policy:

The hotel utilizes environmentally responsible cleaners (MSDS Health Hazard Rating 1 or less) throughout the property

The hotel purchase from local vendors first

Buying in bulk versus individual packaging

The hotel purchases products, when available, that contain recycled contents, bio-based materials, energy efficient, water efficient

and/or are environmentally preferable

Energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel

The hotel offers a reuse option for linen, towels and sheets for multiple night stays

The hotel uses water conserving fixtures including sensor controlled faucets and toilets in the public restrooms

The Housekeeping and Engineering departments utilize an active system to detect and repair leaking toilets, faucets and
