Steering Committee
The Northwest Environmental Conference (NWEC) provides training and information that helps regulated facilities design and implement environmental management programs that meet and exceed legal requirements. The Conference is held annually and serves facilities and service providers in Oregon and Southwest Washington. The Conference is held at the Red Lion Hotel on the River - Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon and boasts the largest environmental tradeshow in Oregon and Washington.
The NWEC is presented by Associated Oregon Industries, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the Washington Department of Ecology, and the Northwest Environmental Business Council. The target audience includes people who manage facilities such as commercial buildings that are looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint, people responsible for environmental compliance at facilities that are subject to environmental legal requirements, the service providers that support them, and the agencies that oversee the legal requirements.
The Conference began in 1988 as a joint effort of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Associated Oregon Industries and the Oregon Chapter of the American Electronics Association. The original conference was called “Minimization Strategies ’88” and was held at Montgomery Park in Portland. Over the years, the conference venue changed and the conference Presenters changed, but the core principles remain the same.
We hope you’ll join us this December for our 23rd year of dedication to improving the environmental performance of Northwest businesses.
